South Shore

Both the south shore and golden circle trips were not as long as expected, but this might be due to our driver being eager to get rid of us!

The Skogafoss waterfall was beautiful and one of the best places we visited on our trip. I liked that you were able to walk to the top as it gave you a nice thing to do while you were there. I was told with my asthma to be careful because of the altitude so I made sure I had my inhaler in my pocket, however I was surprisingly okay and managed it really well.

The next stop was one of the black sand beaches which whilst interesting to see, it was slightly morbid with not a lot to look at! I know we had a cafe and a shop at this site to explore however I think we needed a longer amount of time at the waterfall as it felt very rushed getting to the top and back down. The building of the cafe and the shop was a good investment as it allowed us to have a lunch stop on this long trip.

The larger black sand beach had a lot more to look around with some caves and large rocks. This was a lovely walk but was extremely windy so was the coldest I had felt so far! Finally we visited another waterfall that I am unsure of the name which was amazing but not half as spectacular as Skogafoss.

It felt like we spent a lot more time on the coach than we did on these trips which made it an extremely long day. I don't think I was expecting the attractions to be so far away. Travelling also makes me tired so I kept falling asleep and missing the scenery along the south shore which was a shame.
