The hotel was as expected really and provided just what we needed for a 4 night stay. The rooms were rather cramped so we felt very on top of each other really. When you're used to having your own space, sharing with 3 other girls can get very frustrating!
The first thing we noticed was the smell of egg coming from the water! It was quite unpleasant whenever you wanted to have a shower or wash your hands so we did it as little as possible to save smelling the whole room out haha. I hadn't heard anything about the consistent smell so this decreased my satisfaction levels as you don't read about it when coming to Iceland.
Now I knew as soon as Debbie told us what time we had to get up for Breakfast that I would struggle, especially with the 10 hour trips ahead but the first morning wasn't too bad! Unfortunately, there wasn't anything I really fancied to eat for breakfast as they put out items such as bread rolls, ham, cheese and salad. I didn't think far enough ahead to make myself a sandwich for later each day, but it wasn't such a problem as I don't really have much of an appetite when I'm tired in an unfamiliar environment.
Apparently the breakfast was only for us from the University and the hotel do not provide it any other time. I thought this was really lovely and I wish I had abused it more as they had gone to such special efforts for us. All the staff were really friendly and helped us whenever we need anything!
