What are we celebrating in Iceland?

This is the Harpa in Reykjavik. Just on the shore line, it is a small concert hall that has won awards for its outstanding architecture! With its own orchestra and conference spaces, there is always something going on inside. Unfortunately, I don't think we will have time to book to see anything while we are there, but you can go in and walk around just to see the famous structure of the building.

With lots of culture and history to learn about, there are multiple exhibitions, tours and festivals available in Reykjavik such as the Arts Festival, Colour Run, Ski Marathon and many more. Whilst we are there in March, the Rainbow Reykjavik Winter Pride Festival is on. Iceland is known for its celebration of the queer community and known as one of the most comfortable places to be homosexual so this will be amazing to see how a different country celebrates pride and if it's anything like we do in Manchester and Brighton.

The festival season of Iceland is quite similar to ours, with the majority of events taking place in June, July and August. Therefore, there is a lack of events running in March as we are visiting out of season.
